COD (4-8; 1-3) traveled to the campus of San Diego Mesa College to take on the host Olympians (10-7; 4-2) and the Palomar Comets (0-7; 0-4), falling to Mesa, 5-0 and grabbing their first Conference win in program history, knocking off Palomar, 4-1.

Desert rolled into their second pair of Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) games, opening up with the Palomar Comets of San Marcos. The team of freshman Ashtyn Lyneis (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Nicole Svoboda (La Quinta H.S.) had to fight back to win their first set 22-20 and won the match in set two by a score of 21-19. The team of freshman Baylie Dashner (La Quinta H.S.) and freshman Brooke Topliff (Rancho Mirage H.S.) fell in straight sets, 21-15 and 21-17. The team of sophomore Marisol Ruiz (Thermal Desert Mirage) and sophomore Alysha Garcia (Thermal Desert Mirage) won their first set 21-19, then fell in their second set 21-10 and in the third and deciding set, they squeaked by, winning 15-13. The team of freshman Naomi Garcia-Marquez (Rancho Mirage H.S.) and freshman Emily Sundback (Rancho Mirage H.S.) won in straight sets and the team of sophomore Ashley Schwartz (Yucca Valley H.S.) and sophomore Aaliyah Charley (Thermal Coachella Valley) won in a walkover.

The Roadrunners then took on the host Olympians of Clairemont Mesa and all five Roadrunners teams fell in straight sets.

Next pair of matches for College of the Desert Beach Volleyball will be Friday, April 6th beginning at 9 a.m., where they will travel to La Mesa and take on the Grossmont Griffins of El Cajon and the MiraCosta Spartans of Oceanside. Hope to see you there.
