COD Baseball: Burke, Gonzalez & Osman sign to compete at four-year colleges

COD Baseball sends Christopher Burke to Benedictine University Mesa, Jacob Gonzalez to Harris-Stowe State University and Bryce Osman to Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Sophomore second baseman Christopher Burke (Temecula Valley), who played his freshman year at Dakota State University in South Dakota, has signed his letter of intent with the Benedictine University Mesa Redhawks.

Burke is currently batting .377 in 21 games for the Roadrunners, with a .462 on base percentage and a .455 slugging percentage, grabbing three doubles and a home run so far this season. He has had 11 multi-hit games, three 3 hit games and also has a .915 fielding percentage.

Benedictine University Mesa is located in Mesa, Arizona which is about 20 miles east of Phoenix. The Redhawks play at Gene Autry Park and the team is coached by 2nd year head coach, Brian McCabe. In the 2020 season, the Redhawks are 3-0 in conference play are currently in 1st place, with an overall record of 15-5. Benedictine University Mesa is in the California Pacific Conference of the NAIA.

Sophomore right handed pitcher Jacob Gonzalez (Temecula Valley) has signed his letter of intent with the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets. Gonzalez made 12 appearances and six starts, tossing 31 innings in the 2019 season for the Roadrunners, striking out 17. In the 2020 season, he has made seven appearances and a start, throwing nine and two-third innings of work and striking out four.

Harris-Stowe State University is located in St. Louis, Missouri. The Hornets play at Stars Park and the team is coached by 5th year head coach, CJ Bilbrey. In the 2020 season, the Hornets are 0-3 in conference play are currently tied for 9th place, with an overall record of 9-12. Harris-Stowe State University is in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.

Sophomore right fielder Bryce Osman (Anna-Jonesboro, IL), has signed his letter of intent with the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves. Osman has played in 20 games for the Roadrunners in 2020 and has a .949 fielding percentage.

Colorado State University-Pueblo is located in Pueblo, Colorado about 115 miles south of Denver. The ThunderWolves play at Rawlings Field and the team is coached by 26th year head coach, Stan Sanchez. In the 2020 season, the T-Wolves are 0-0 in conference play are currently in 3rd place, with an overall record of 8-4. CSU-Pueblo is in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference of NCAA Division II.
