COD Baseball: Costello & Webster sign to compete at four-year colleges

COD Baseball sends Zachary Costello to Harris-Stowe State University and Damion Webster to Culver-Stockton College.

Sophomore left handed pitcher Zachary Costello (Palm Springs H.S.) has signed his letter of intent with the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets. Costello made six appearances all out of the bullpen, tossing seven and two thirds innings of work in the 2020 season for the Roadrunners, striking out four. In the 2019 season, he made four appearances, throwing four and a third innings of work and striking out five. Costello joins teammate sophomore right handed pitcher Jacob Gonzalez (Temecula Valley) with the Hornets.

Harris-Stowe State University is located in St. Louis, Missouri. The Hornets play at Stars Park and the team is coached by 5th year head coach, CJ Bilbrey. Prior to the 2020 season being concluded early, due to the NAIA abruptly cancelling all remaining games on March 13, 2020 to stem the COVID-19 virus outbreak, the Hornets were 3-8 in conference play, with an overall record of 12-18. Harris-Stowe State University is in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.

Sophomore infielder Damion Webster (Homestead (FL) Somerset Academy Charter), who played his freshman year at Sterling College in Kansas, has signed his letter of intent with the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats. Webster has played in six games for the Roadrunners in 2020.

Culver-Stockton College is located in Canton, Missouri about 150 miles north of St. Louis. The Wildcats play at Nichols Field and the team is coached by 1st year head coach, Brad Gyorkos. Prior to the 2020 season being concluded early, due to the NAIA abruptly cancelling all remaining games on March 13, 2020 to stem the COVID-19 virus outbreak, the Wildcats were 4-6 in conference play, with an overall record of 7-11. Culver-Stockton College is in the Heart of America Athletic Conference – North Division of the NAIA.
