COD Men’s Golf finishes 2nd at Fallbrook

COD Men's Golf participated in their twelfth event of the 2018 season at the sixth event for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, as the team finished in 2nd place out of 5 teams.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its twelfth event, which was hosted at the Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook. Desert would finish tied with Mt. San Jacinto for second place with 406 points, 10 strokes behind winner, Palomar. Desert would have to go to the score of their sixth man to decide second place.

Freshman Mitchel McComber (Redlands Citrus Valley) led the way for the Roadrunners, nailing a 7-over, 79 on the afternoon, in a comeback effort after taking just under a month off of the course, where he last participated on March 12th at Torrey Pines.

Freshman Joseph Bogaert (Ghent (BE) Sint-Barbara College) followed that up with an impressive 8-over, 80 on the afternoon. Sophomore Steven Wang (Taipei (TW) Municipal Nei-Hu Senior) came in right behind Bogaert scoring 9-over, after taking nearly a 6-week break from the course. His last time on the green was on a lovely February 14 at Beaumont.

Sophomore Samuel Berglund (Victoria (AUS) Rowville Secondary College) shot 10-over, 82 on the afternoon, while freshman Nicklaus Marshall (Bermuda Dunes) and freshman Clement Heurtin (Nantes (FR) NDTA) both shot 12-over, 84 on the afternoon.

COD will make their next appearance at The S at Rancho Mirage formally known as "Desert Island Country Club" on Monday, April 9 as they continue Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) play.
