COD Men’s Golf finishes 7th at Cuyamaca Classic

COD Men's Golf participated in their third event of the 2020 season, as three Roadrunners finished with their best rounds of 2020 and the team finished in 7th place out of 10 teams. 

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its third event, which was hosted at the par-72, Sycuan Golf Course in El Cajon. Desert would finish with 383 points, 14 strokes behind winner, Cypress.

Both sophomore Jordan Clark (Poway H.S.) and sophomore Bailey Spivak (Palm Desert H.S.) led the way for the Roadrunners, shooting their best rounds of 2020 so far, a three-over 75 on the afternoon.

Freshman Cameron Winslow (Palm Desert H.S.) followed that up with an impressive 5-over, 77 for his second best performance on the season. Finishing close behind, freshman John Kim, Jr. (Palm desert H.S.), sophomore Josh Lumgair (Calgary (AB) Calgary Academy) and freshman Kwing Leung (Rancho Mirage H.S.), all shooting a six-over 78, closing the event for Desert.

COD will make their next appearance at the Victoria Country Club in Riverside as the Roadrunners wrap-up their non-Conference schedule of matches at the Riverside City Invitational on Monday, February 24.
