COD (15-1; 12-0) easily toppled their third Division III University, Gustavus Adolphus College (12-7; 6-0), 8-1.

In their last competition before playoffs, Desert swept Gustavus Adolphus College in individuals. In the most impressive match of the event, sophomore Kalman Boyd (Solana Beach Fusian Academy) did not allow the Gustie a single point, winnning in two sets, 6-0 and 6-0. Freshman Alex Kuperstein (Palm Desert H.S.) also won in two sets, 6-0 and 6-3. Freshman Manfred Vogt (Mexico City (MX) Universidad Panamerican Preparatoria) had a solid performance, missing only one shot, as he defeated his opponent, 6-0 and 6-1.

Freshman Saar Rogovski (Rosh HaAyin (ISR) Menachem Begin) easily took the first set from Gustavus, then battled through the next set, eventually overcoming his opponet, 6-2 and 7-5. Taking the last two matches for the Roadrunners, freshman Sebastian Gomez Romero (Palm Desert H.S.) and freshman Syed Hosain (Abu Dhabi (UAE) GEMS American Academy) both won in two sets.

In doubles play for Desert, the undefeated team of Boyd and Kuperstein dismantled the Gusties, 8-4. The team of Romero and Vogt also took down Gustavus with a score of 8-4. The last team for the Roadrunners, Rogovski and Hosains, fell in a close match, 8-6.

The next match of 2019 for College of the Desert Men's Tennis will be in Palm Desert on April 9th at 2p,where they will host the 1st round of the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs the Riverside City Tigers.
