COD Men’s Cross Country finishes 7th at Palomar Invitational, Diaz-Reyes grabs top 10 spot

COD opened the 2018 season at Guajome Regional Park in Oceanside for the Palomar Invitational, where the team finished 7th overall on the 4-mile course.

The Roadrunners finished with 177 points, grabbing the top spot for Desert in Oceanside was freshman Johnathan Diaz-Reyes (Indio H.S.), collecting an 8th place finish and a time of 21:55.

Sophomore Christian Cardoza (Cathedral City H.S.) finished 36th, collecting a time of 25:30, dropping his previous course best, by 75 seconds. Freshman Andrew Limon (Indio Shadow Hills) crossed the finish line at 29:22, well enough for 42nd place.

Freshman Joseph Oropeza (Rancho Mirage H.S.) wrapped up a 45th place finish with a time of 30:04 and right on Oropeza's heels was freshman Bronn Olson (Palm Desert H.S.), who wrapped up the top five for COD with a time of 30:13, finishing in 46th place.

Sophomore Miguel Espinola (Palm Desert H.S.) and freshman Guillermo Blanco (Rancho Mirage H.S.) finished 48th and 49th respectively for the Roadrunners on the afternoon.
