The Roadrunners would open the Chick fil-A Classic, taking on a former intra-Divisional Conference rival from the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC), Imperial Valley. The game would be tied at 10-10 at the end of the first quarter and then Desert would snag a four point lead right before halftime, 27-23. The Roadrunners would pull away late, winning their first game of the season. 57-48.
