COD Women’s Golf wins third straight OEC match

COD has carried some of their Conference Championship momentum from one Conference to the next, as they have opened up a sizable lead in the early 2019 calendar, winning their third consecutive match.

The Roadrunners sent five participants to its fourth event, which was hosted at the par-71 Royal Vista Golf Course in Rowland Heights. Desert would finish with 335 points, 14 strokes ahead of second place finisher, the Mt. San Antonio Mounties.

Sophomore Lilyanna Rodriguez (Palm Desert H.S.) led the way for the Roadrunners, shooting a strong seven-over 78 and finishing third individually on the day.

Freshman Raegan Preece (Imperial H.S.) followed up her impressive one-under 71 on Monday at The Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto with a strong fifth place finish individually on Wednesday, shooting an 83.

Freshman Morgan Preece (Imperial H.S.) shot an 85 and freshman Maddie Jones (Palm Desert H.S.) shot an 89. Freshman Isabelle Smith (Indio Shadow Hills) shot a 110 to wrap up the day.

COD will make their next appearance at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo on Monday, September 16 as they continue the Orange Empire Conference play.
