COD Women’s Golf finishes 2nd in El Cajon

COD had their impressive streak of seven consecutive Conference wins snapped by five strokes, both Morgan Preece and Isabelle Smith shot their second best scores of the season, helping the team stay just ahead of Mt. San Antonio to finish in 2nd place.

Desert sent five participants to their eleventh event which was hosted at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (Oak Glen Course) in El Cajon. COD finished with 327 points, just five strokes back of winner, the Saddleback Gauchos and two strokes ahead of third place finisher, the Mt. San Antonio Mounties.

Leading the way for the Roadrunners was freshman Morgan Preece (Imperial H.S.) who shot a strong four-over 76 and her twin sister freshman Raegan Preece (Imperial H.S.), shot an 82.

Right behind Raegan was sophomore Lilyanna Rodriguez (Palm Desert H.S.) shooting an 83.

Freshman Maddie Jones (Palm Desert H.S.) shot an 86 and freshman Isabelle Smith (Indio Shadow Hills) shot a 102.

COD will head to Via Verde Country Club in San Dimas for the SoCal Preview on October 16 at 10am.
