COD (3-4; 2-1) hosted their first home PCAC match and were getting opportunities in the second half, right before an unusual home lightening delay, as the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines (6-1; 3-0) exploited the rarity to win, 5-0.

Freshman forward Alejandra Gonzalez (Palm Springs H.S.), freshman forward Savannah Cervantes (Rancho Mirage H.S.) and sophomore defender Alexi Mejia (La Quinta H.S.) all had a shot on goal each on the afternoon.

Freshman starting goal keeper Kaylin Eastman (Indio Shadow Hills) played 72 minutes in net for Desert and freshman goal keeper Marqisha Zamudio-Ontiveros (Thermal Coachella Valley) wrapped things up.

The next game for Desert is on the road, when they continue Pacific Coast Athletic Conference – North Division play, traveling to the MiraCosta Spartans of Oceanside on Tuesday, September 25, game starts at 3 p.m. The next home game for Desert is 14 days away, when they host the Grossmont Griffins of La Mesa on Friday, October 5, game starts at 3 p.m.
