COD comes back from early deficit to route Victor Valley Rams on the road 4-1.

COD (8-8-4; 4-4-2) visited Victor Valley College (6-12-3; 2-8-2) on Tuesday November 12th, marking the close of the VVC Rams season.

It was clear skies and calm sunny day in the High Desert for the final game of Victor Valley on the 2019 season. The Lady Roadrunners would get off to a rocky start allowing a Victor Valley goal just inside of the 15 minute mark. However Desert would answer back with an equalizer several minutes later in the 19th minute when freshman Andrea Lopez-Galvan (Thermal Desert Mirage) would net her 1st college goal off of a header from freshman Ashley Murguia (Indio) on a corner kick. After a period possession by Desert, the Roadrunners would get on the scoreboard once again with a line drive goal from 25 yards out from Ashley Murguia (Indio). Desert would add to that lead just before half when sophomore Jaidah Martin (Rancho Mirage) would hit a free kick off the cross bar from 25 yards out where freshman Alejandra Fernandez (Cathedral City) would clean up the rebound in the 45th minute.

After the halftime break, the Lady Roadrunners would pick up where they left off, scoring the in the 51st minute as sophomore April Contreras (Palm Desert) would take a ball down the right flank and cross it all the way into the box to a crashing Jasmine Castillo (Indio Shadow Hills), scoring Desert's 4th unanswered goal. With just under 40 minutes still to play the Roadrunners still had plenty of game left to keep the ball moving and work possession. They would pepper the Rams with 12 shots in the 2nd half, and the back line of Marion Orozco (Cathedral City), Daniela Iniguez (Thermal Coachella Valley), Anaya Guerrero (La Quinta), Andrea Lopez-Galvan (Thermal Desert Mirage), Faith Palmer (Yucca Valley), really limited Victor Valley to scoring opportunities with Marqisha Zamudio-Ontiveros (Thermal Coachella Valley) only having to make 2 saves in the final 45 minutes

Friday November 15th College Of The Desert will travel to San Bernardino Valley College for the final Inland Empire Athletic Conference contest of the 2019 season with a 3:00pm kickoff.
