COD Women’s Tennis pulled out their third straight win, defeating the Jaguars, 7-2

COD (3-3) snatched their third win of 2018, knocking off Conference foe, the Southwestern Olympians (1-2), 7-2.

In doubles play, the team of freshman Claudia Stepien (Palm Desert H.S.) and freshman Andrea Rapan (Thermal Coachella Valley) won their match, outright, 8-0. The team of freshman Annaya Zubick (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Sariah Sanchez (Indio Shadow Hills) battled in their match, winning, 8-5 and the team of freshman Daniela Ramirez (Cathedral City H.S.) and freshman Ana Laura Ochoa-Castillo (Albuquerque (NM) Atrisco Heritage Academy) fought hard to win their doubles match, 8-6.

In singles play, Stepien, Zubick and Ochoa-Castillo won in straight sets. Rapan lost her first set, 6-2, then won her second set 6-1 and battled back to win the deciding extra set, 10-8. Sanchez and Ramirez played hard fought singles matches, losing in straight sets.

The next home match for College of the Desert Women's Tennis will be on February 27th at 2p, where they will continue Pacific Coast Athletic Conference-North Division (PCAC-North) against the Grossmont Griffins of El Cajon. Hope to see you there.
