COD (4-2; 3-1) took a non-conference victory, as they hosted the Rio Hondo Roadrunners (2-4; 0-2), 7-2.

In doubles play for Desert the team of sophomore Andrea Rapan (Thermal Coachella Valley) and sophomore Annaya Zubick (Palm Springs H.S.) took the win against Rio Hondo in the extra set, 9-8 and 7-2. The team of freshman Adriana Vargas (La Quinta H.S.) and freshman Vanessa Rodriguez (Palm Springs H.S.) won, 8-5.

In singles play, Desert overwhelmed Rio Hondo, winning 5-1. The freshman Karla Munoz (Rancho Mirage H.S.) stunned her oppenent, finishing the match in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0. Stepien once again had a great showing, taking the win, 6-1 and 6-0. Rodriguez, Rapan and Zubick each grabbed a win for Desert.

College of the Desert defeated Rio Hondo College, 7-2 in Non-Conference play at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
