COD (14-8; 7-1) now has control of their own destiny as they roll into the final two games of the 2019 regular season in sole possession of first place in Conference after defeating San Bernardino Valley (3-14; 0-7), 3-1 (25-19, 25-11, 21-25 & 25-21).

In set one, Desert jumped out to a 9-4 lead before the Wolverines had to call their first time out and the Roadrunners would build upon that lead, grabbing six more points as San Bernardino Valley called their second time out at 15-7. Desert would have a four point swing later in the set, with the Wolverines responding with a four point swing of their own, but the Roadrunners were too much in set one, winning the set, 25-19.

In set two, the Roadrunners leapt out to a 9-1 lead and never looked back, as they had three streaks of three later in the set, winning set two easily 25-11.

In set three, Desert got a little confident in a sweep and the Wolverines wreaked havoc on those plans, where in the middle of a seven point streak for San Bernardino Valley, the Roadrunners had to burn a time out, by that time the Wolverines had built up an 11-4 lead. Desert would burn their second time out in the middle of a five point run by the visitors, as San Bernardino Valley held a 16-6 lead. Then the tide turned as the Roadrunners rattled of a nine point run, getting the Wolverines into a panic, forcing them to burn their first time out and when the dust settled, Desert was within one point, 17-16. The game went back-and-forth after that, eventually, San Bernardino Valley would grab set three, 25-21.

In set four, there was some carry over from set three, as both teams would not relent and Desert did not want to go to a winner-take-all set five with the last place team in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference. The game would continue to go back-and-forth, as one team would start to pull away the other would go on a streak and tie it up again. Eventually, the Roadrunners would prevail late, 25-21.

Sophomore right side Kendal Campbell-Faynor (White Rock (BC) Semiahoo Secondary) had 3 service aces, 13 digs and 1 block assist.

Freshman setter Judy Figueroa (Indio Shadow Hills) led the team with 41 assists, had 3 service aces and 14 digs and freshman middle blocker Alex Salinas (Palm Springs H.S.) had 12 kills and 1 block assist.

Sophomore outside hitter Jomarie Viloria (Rancho Mirage H.S.) had 8 kills and 3 service aces and freshman libero Dakota Hansen (Myrtle Beach, SC) led the team with 16 digs.
