COD Women’s Volleyball sweeps Desert Warriors, 3-0
The College of the Desert Women’s Volleyball team (6-2) put on a show Tuesday night, earning their third sweep of the season with a 3-0 victory over the Imperial Valley Desert Warriors (1-2). Set scores were 25-13, 25-18, 25-22.

The Roadrunners had a packed house behind them, with alumni, the full Xavier College Prep squad, and coverage from both KESQ and NBC Palm Springs creating one of the most electric atmospheres in recent memory. With COD heading out on a 23-day road stretch, fans made sure to show up big for the last home match of September.
The win adds to Desert's strong history against Imperial Valley, a rivalry that began in 1976. COD now holds a 28-14 all-time advantage over the Desert Warriors, including 10 wins in their last 11 meetings.
On the court, several Roadrunners delivered standout performances:
Clairie Thomas (So., La Quinta H.S.) led the offense with 18 kills and added 16 digs.
Juliette Rothe (Fr., Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) orchestrated the attack with 29 assists, while also collecting 16 digs, 5 kills, and 2 service aces.
Jackie Leon (Fr., La Quinta H.S.) contributed 4 kills and a solo block in the middle.
Faiyth Robinson (Fr., Desert Christian Academy) notched 2 service aces.
Leslie Delgado (Fr., Coachella Valley H.S.) chipped in 6 kills.
Madyson Duran (So., Rancho Mirage H.S.) added 6 kills and a solo block.
Amber Kardol (Fr., Palm Desert H.S.) provided defensive depth with 6 digs and a service ace.
Up next, COD heads to the Vaqueros Tri at Glendale College this Friday, where they'll face off against the Orange Coast Pirates and the Riverside City Tigers. The Roadrunners will spend their next seven matches on the road before returning to Palm Desert on September 26 at 5 p.m., hosting El Camino for the first time in program history.
