COD Women’s Cross Country finishes 3rd at Cerritos Falcons Invitational

COD had all five finishers beat their season best over one minute as they entered their 5th event at Don Knabe Regional Park in Cerritos for the Cerritos Falcons Invitational where the team finished 3rd.

Desert finished with 86 points and crossing the line first for the Roadrunners was sophomore Naibe Ruelas (Indio H.S.) in 15th place, with a time of 19:48.43, dropping her season best by 73 seconds.

Sophomore Jasmin Gallegos (Indio Shadow Hills) finished the race in 17th place, 20:10.98 beating her season best by 89 seconds and crossing the line after her was freshman Stephany Ramirez-Lopez (Cathedral City H.S.) in 25th, with a time of 21:00.36 dropping her season best by 76 seconds.

Finishing the race in 35th place was freshman Natalia Johnson (Indio Shadow Hills) with a time of 22:03.79 also beating her season best by 62 seconds. Freshman Jacqueline Garcia Rodriguez (Indio H.S.) crossed the line in 47th place, with a time of 24:08.10 dropping her time by 2 minutes and 37 seconds.

Freshman Ireland Olson (Indio Cedar Life Academy) finished with a time of 28:54.31 and behind her was freshman Maddisonn Covington (Rancho Mirage H.S.) with a time of 30:17.98. Wrapping up the race for Desert was freshman Jennifer Avila (Indio H.S.) with a time of 34:12.95.
