Congratulations to Jacqueline Orozco from women's basketball and Isaiah Goad from men's basketball for earning the College of the Desert December Student Athletes of the Month honors.

Women's Basketball freshman forward Jackie Orozco from Hamilton H.S. in Anza, started in all 6 games during the month of December. The impact player had three 11+ points games, including two 11+ total rebound games in the month of December, giving her a double-double during the month. Orozco set season marks for points and boards on December 14, scoring 18 points on 4 of 12 shooting, going an impressive 10 for 11 from the free throw line and grabbing 11 boards to open Inland Empire Athletic Conference on the road.

Men's Basketball freshman guard Isaiah Goad from Palm Springs H.S., started in 7 of 9 games during the month of December. He had five double digit games, including three 15+ point games, including three 6+ total rebound games in the month of December. Goad set a season mark for points in the final game of the Santa Barbara Classic, scoring 23 points on 9 of 15 shooting, going 5 for 9 from beyond three-point range on December 10.
