Congratulations to Delia Orduno from women's basketball and Garrett Hayden from men's basketball for earning the College of the Desert January Student Athletes of the Month honors.

Women's Basketball freshman guard Delia Orduno from Rancho Mirage H.S., started in all 4 games during the month of January. The impact player had two 10+ points games in the month of January.

Men's Basketball sophomore center Garrett Hayden from Palm Desert H.S., started in all 8 games during the month of January. He had five double digit games, including three 16+ point games, including three of his 6 double-doubles this season were in the month of January. Hayden set a career high for points and rebounds at home vs. the Palo Verde Pirates, scoring 30 points on 13 of 17 shooting and grabbing 17 total boards, 10 defensive on January 23.
