Amador and Ishikawa Earn March Student Athletes of the Month

Congratulations to Annabelle Amador from softball and Eita Ishikawa from men's tennis for earning the College of the Desert March Student Athletes of the Month honors.

Softball sophomore center fielder Annabelle Amador from Shadow Hills H.S. in Indio, was named the IEAC Student Athlete of the Week for the week of 3/20. She started in all 11 games during the month of March. Amador had five multi-hit games and grabbing at least one hit in 9 of 11 games in the month. She finished the month of March first in RBI's (9) and was tied for first in hits (18). Amador also had a .960 fielding percentage, with 22 putouts and only 2 fielding errors in the month.

Men's Tennis sophomore Eita Ishikawa from Yokkaichi Technical H.S. in Yokkaichi, Japan, was undefeated in all 8 doubles matches (6 with doubles partner Joseph Corse and 2 with doubles partner Hernan Quiroz) and also undefeated in 6 singles matches as well. Ishikawa, and doubles partner Corse, made it to the round of 64 at the Level 5 Open at the Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championship, falling to a doubles team from the University of Nebraska. Ishikawa is atop the ladder as the Roadrunners representative on both the 1's doubles and 1's singles.
