On behalf of the College of the Desert Athletics, we would like to welcome you to Palm Desert for your upcoming athletic event. The Sports Medicine Center is located next to Robert F. Boone Football Field by Math Science Technology Center, lot 17. In preparation for your team’s travel, we kindly ask that you include your student athletes’ emergency information forms along with their well-stocked med kit. Our Sports Medicine Staff will be available for pre- and post-match needs and stationed at a Medical Tent near the event. We will check-in with the Head coach 1 hour prior to competition and upon conclusion.

The following emergency and therapeutic equipment will be available:

-Taping table: Medical Kit
-Recovery: Foam rollers, Stretching bands
-Hydration: Water, Gatorade, bottles, cups
-Cryotherapy: Ice bags, Whirlpool for EMS only
-Emergency Medical Supplies: AED, Splint Kit, Crutches, Data Therm

COD Emergency Action Plans

Please tell us if you will travel with your team or have any special requests regarding further care/preparation for them, and we will do our best to accommodate you in our Sports Medicine Clinic.

In case of an emergency or serious injury, we will inform coaching staff and contact your Sports Medicine Staff with further details. Lastly, we will be monitoring heat conditions as desert temperatures can reach triple digits and competition may be affected by other environmental factors. In further preparation, optimal hydration, protective layers, and sunscreen are strongly recommended.
