COD Baseball: Baker signs letter with Miami University

COD Baseball short stop Dillon Baker (Tampa (FL) Carrollwood Day School) has signed a letter of intent with Miami of Ohio.

Baker, from Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, Florida, was named Second Team All-IEAC, playing 44 of 45 games for the Conference Champs. Baker finished in the top 25 in the state in multiple offensive categories, including doubles (16), runs (45), runs batted in (47) and hits (60). The 6 foot 1, 190 pound freshman had 17 multi-hit games, including 8 games where he had 3 or more hits in a game, including a 4-hit, with 3 doubles, 4 RBI game at home against San Bernardino Valley on April 19, in a 15-4 win.

Miami University is located in Oxford, Ohio, which is about 5 miles east of the Indiana-Ohio state line and about 40 miles north of Cincinnati. The Miami RedHawks play at Stanley G. McKie Field at Joseph P. Hayden Jr. Park and the team is coached by head coach, Danny Hayden, in his 7th year with the RedHawks. In the 2021 season, the RedHawks concluded the year with a 23-33 overall record, with a 18-22 record in Conference play, finishing the season in 6th place. Miami is in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) of NCAA – Division I.
