COD Baseball scores 4 in the 5th, holds on for win over the Eagles, 5-1

COD (20-14; 9-11) got back in the win column after a frustrating loss on the road earlier in the week, a big inning in the fifth and a superb pitching performance from the starter and the relivers, as the Roadrunners stunned the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (26-8; 13-6), 5-1.

Freshman right handed starting pitcher Braden Turner (Henderson (NV) Basic Academy) grabbed his third win of the season, tossing six innings and striking out four in his third win of the year. Sophomore second baseman Brian Parry (Redlands H.S.) went 1 of 4 from the eight hole in the lineup, having an awesome day in the infield defensively and sophomore left fielder Joeseph Jimenez (Palm Desert H.S.) went 2 for 4 with two runs batted in, out of the two hole.

The next contest for Desert is on Saturday, April 22nd at 1p at the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles of San Jacinto. The next home game for the Roadrunners is Sophomore Day, Thursday, April 27th at 2:30p against the San Bernardino Valley Indians.
