COD Baseball shuts out Panthers, 2-0

COD (10-8; 7-0) went head-to-head with the defending Conference Champs and when the dust settled, remained undefeated in Conference play, as the Roadrunners grabbed their 8th consecutive win by sneaking by the Chaffey Panthers of Rancho Cucamonga (11-8; 6-1), 2-0.

Desert scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first and with sophomore right-handed starting pitcher Braden Turner (Henderson (NV) Basic Academy) dominating the strike zone, the Panthers had no answers. Turner would throw the first complete game shut out for the Roadrunners in recent memory, grabbing his fourth win of the year and striking out five. The win puts Desert in the driver's seat in Conference.

The next contest for Desert is at Rancho Cucamunga on Thursday, March 7 at 2p, as the Roadrunners continue Conference play against the Chaffey Panthers.
