COD Men’s Basketball grabs narrow road win at the Vaqueros, 69-67

COD (3-11) went on the road for the final game of 2022, receiving some big help from the bench and knocking off the Glendale Vaqueros (6-7), 69-67.

Freshman forward Christopher Dodge (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) led the way for the Roadrunners off of the bench, grabbing his first double-double of the season, scoring 17 points on 8 of 9 shooting, grabbing 10 total rebounds, 7 offensive. Sophomore starting center Garrett Hayden (Palm Desert H.S.) led all starters with 12 points on 4 of 7 shooting, going 4 of 5 from the free throw line, grabbing 8 boards and leading the team with 2 blocks. Freshman starting guard Jaylen Carter (Dearborn Heights (MI) Robichaud) led the team in assists with 8 and steals with 3 and freshman guard Isaiah Goad (Palm Springs H.S.) leapt off of the bench to go a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe.

The next contest for Desert is on Saturday, January 7th at 3p where the Roadrunners will continue IEAC play by hosting the Copper Mountain Fighting Cacti.
