COD Men’s Golf finishes 6th at MSJC Classic

COD Men's Golf participated in their first event of the 2022 season, as the team finished in 6th place out of 9 teams.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its first event, which was hosted at the par-72, The Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto. Desert would finish with 388 points, 18 strokes ahead of seventh place finisher, the Reedley Tigers. Saddleback would win with 377 points. Eight out of the ten teams in the Orange Empire Conference attended this event, including four of five of the Inland Division teams.

Sophomore John Kim, Jr. (Palm Desert H.S.) would lead the way for the Roadrunners, shooting a one-over 73 and freshman Ryln Hadley, Jr. (Palm Desert H.S.) would shoot a five-over 77.

Freshman Ryuki Torii (Matsuyama (JPN) Nitta Seiun Secondary Education) also shot a five-over 77 and freshman Hugo Barbin (Montpellier (FR) Association Internationale des Ministères de Guérison) shot a six-over 78.

Freshman Jeremy Kallman (Palm Desert H.S.) shot an 83 and freshman Brandon LaFond (Indio Shadow Hills) shot an 85.

COD will make their next appearance at Sycuan Golf Club in El Cajon as the Roadrunners will non-Conference play on Wednesday, February 16.
