COD Men’s Golf finishes 4th at Cuyamaca Classic

COD Men's Golf participated in their second event of the 2022 season, as Palm Desert H.S. alumnus John Kim, Jr. shot an even par 72, finishing 5th individually and the team finished in 4th place out of 8 teams.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its second event, which was hosted at the par-72, Sycuan Golf Club in El Cajon. Desert would finish with 379 points, 9 strokes ahead of host, the Cuyamaca Coyotes. Saddleback would win with 366 points. Eight out of the ten teams in the Orange Empire Conference attended this event, including four of five of the Inland Division teams.

Sophomore John Kim, Jr. (Palm Desert H.S.) would lead the way for the Roadrunners, shooting his best score of 2022, an even par 72 and freshman Ryln Hadley, Jr. (Palm Desert H.S.), shot his best score of 2022, shooting a two-over 74.

Freshman Hugo Barbin (Montpellier (FR) Association Internationale des Ministères de Guérison) shot his best score of 2022, a four-over 76 and sophomore Cameron Winslow (Palm Desert H.S.) played in his first event of the 2022 season, picking up where he left off in the COVID shortened 2020 season, shooting a strong five-over 77.

Freshman Ryuki Torii (Matsuyama (JPN) Nitta Seiun Secondary Education) also shot an eight-over 80 and freshman Hayato Ito (Setagaya (JPN) Shoin Junior & Senior) wrapped up the day with an 81.

COD will make their next appearance at Victoria Country Club in Riverside as the Roadrunners will non-Conference play on Monday, February 28.
