COD Men’s Golf rolls in dominate Conference win at Riverside

COD Men's Golf demolished the field in their third Conference event of the season, with three players racking up their lowest scores of the season, as the team finished 1st with Ivan Sablan collecting an amazing 3-under 69 for a 1st place individual finish for the event.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to seventh event of the 2023 season, third event in Orange Empire Conference-Inland Division play, which was hosted at the historic Victoria Country Club in Riverside. Desert would finish with 365 points, putting them in 1st place, 23-strokes ahead of the host Riverside City Tigers.

Sophomore Ivan Sablan (Chalan-Pago-Ordot (Guam) Father Dueñas Memorial) led the way for the Roadrunners, shooting his best score of the season, a three-under 69 and finishing 1st individually at the event. Sophomore Palm Desert H.S. alums, Willis Panzarello and Jeremy Kallmann, also shot season lows as Panzarello shot a one-under 71 and Kallmann shot an even par 72. Sophomore Ryuki Torii (Matsuyama (JPN) Nitta Seiun Secondary) shot a four-over 76 and his brother, freshman Yuo Torii (Montverde (FL) Academy) shot a five-over 77. Freshman Arri Arbaugh (La Quinta H.S.) shot his second-best score of the season an 81 to wrap up the afternoon for the Roadrunners.

COD will make their next appearance at Los Seranos Golf Course – North Course in Chino Hills on Wednesday, April 5 at 11:30a as they continue Orange Empire Conference - Inland Division play in a reschedule match originally scheduled for March 15.
