COD Men’s Golf grabs lopsided win at Bermuda Dunes

COD Men's Golf continues to roll through Conference play as Roadrunners ran past the field in their fifth Conference event of the season, with Willis Panzarello and Yuo Torii shooting a 1-under and a tie for a 1st place individual finish for the event.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to ninth event of the 2023 season, fifth event in Orange Empire Conference-Inland Division play, which was hosted at the historic Bermuda Dunes Country Club in Bermuda Dunes. Desert would finish with 366 points, putting them in 1st place, 20-strokes ahead of Riverside City Tigers.

For the first time this season, the Roadrunners had to compete in more familiar temperatures as all prior Conference events have occurred in frigid, wet and windy conditions. Sophomore Willis Panzarello (Palm Desert H.S.) and freshman Yuo Torii (Montverde (FL) Academy) both shot a 1-under, 71 to take the event individual title. Sophomore Ivan Sablan (Chalan-Pago-Ordot (Guam) Father Dueñas Memorial) shot an even 72. Sophomore Palm Desert H.S. alums, Cameron Winslow and Jeremy Kallmann, both shot a four-over 76 and sophomore Ryuki Torii (Matsuyama (JPN) Nitta Seiun Secondary) shot a six-over 78 to wrap up the afternoon for the Roadrunners.

COD will make their next appearance at Los Seranos Golf Course – North Course in Chino Hills on Wednesday, April 12 at 11:50a as they continue Orange Empire Conference - Inland Division play.
