COD Men’s Soccer: Ascencio signs letter with Cal State Dominguez Hills

COD Men's Soccer goal keeper Sebastian Ascencio (La Quinta H.S.) has signed a letter of intent with Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Ascencio, from La Quinta H.S., was named First team All-Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC), spending the bulk of the minutes in net for the Roadrunners, 1620 minutes, ranking him 12th in the state in minutes played. The 6-foot 3, 205-pound freshman played in 19 of 21 games for Desert, starting 17 of them, collecting four shutouts, including three clean sheets in Conference play.

California State University, Dominguez Hills is located in Carson, California, which is about 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles and about 125 miles west of College of the Desert. The CSUDH Toros play at Toro Stadium and the team is coached by head coach, Eddie Soto, in his 4th year with the Toros. In the 2021 season, the Toros concluded the year with a 10-6-1 overall record, with a 7-4 record in Conference play, finishing the season in 5th place. CSUDH is in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) of NCAA – Division II.
