COD (2-0; 1-0) opened up Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) play by grabbing their 42nd consecutive Conference win, sweeping the Imperial Valley Arabs (0-3; 0-1), 9-0.

In doubles play, the 1's team of freshman Hernan Quiroz (Calexico Vincent Memorial Catholic) and sophomore Matthew Shaw (Baker (LA) Inner City Learning Center) won easily, 8-1. The 2's team of freshman Nathan Caolie (San Juan Capistrano California Connections Academy) and freshman Ian Rabtsevich (Minsk (BLR) Gymnasium 30) took down the Arabs, 8-0. The 3's team of freshman Ethan Auger (Ottawa (ON) Nepean) and sophomore Eita Ishikawa (Yokkaichi (JPN) Technical) also won easily, 8-0.

In singles play, Quiroz and Auger were the only players to allow any points in their dominate win against Imperial Valley, downing their Arabs opponents in straight sets. Shaw, Caolie, Rabtsevich and Ishikawa effortlessly won in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0.

The next match for the Roadrunners will be on February 21st at 2p, where they will continue Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) play, hosting the Mt. San Antonio Mounties of Walnut.

College of the Desert defeated Imperial Valley College, 9-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play at Rancho Las Palmas Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
