COD had two runners complete the second event of the 2021 season at Morley Field in San Diego for the Coach Downey XC Classic, where participants finished in 6th and 19th place on the 4 mile course.

Grabbing the top spot for Desert in San Diego was freshman Jonathan Pellior (Palm Desert H.S.), collecting 6th place finish with his best time of the season so far, dropping 44 seconds off of his previous best and crossing the finish line with a time of 23:25.

Freshman Mason Rivas (Palm Desert H.S.), who finished 19th, collected a time of 26:24 and freshman Amelio Chio (Cathedral City H.S.) was unable to finish.

The next event for Desert is at the San Diego Mesa Invite at NTC Park in Liberty Station in San Diego on October 1st at 10 a.m.
