COD Men’s Cross Country: Chio & Rivas set season best at Mesa Invite

COD had four runners complete the third event of the 2021 season at NTC Park in Liberty in San Diego for the Mesa Invite, where participants finished in 69th, 108th, 149th, and 176th in on the 4 mile course.

Grabbing the top spot for Desert in San Diego was freshman Amelio Chio (Cathedral City H.S.), collecting a 69th place finish for his best time of the season so far, dropping three seconds off of his best and crossing the finish line with a time of 22:36.9.

Freshman Jonathan Pellior (Palm Desert H.S.), who finished 108th, collected a time of 23:31.9 and freshman Mason Rivas (Palm Desert H.S.) finished in 149th place with his best time of the season of a 24:59.1.

Freshman Pablo Guadiana (Rancho Mirage H.S.) wrapped up the race for Desert placing 176th and recieviving a time of 27:02.2.

The next event for Desert is at the Mt. SAC Invational at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut on October 15th at 10 a.m.
