COD Men's Cross Country finishes 3rd in IEAC Championship

Desert entered their 6th event of the 2023 season, the IEAC Championship where the team finished 3rd at Morley Field at Balboa Park in San Diego, where Desert finished with a team time of 2:33:35 on the 4-mile course.

The Roadrunners finished with 94 points and crossing the line first for COD was sophomore Emmanuel Lule (La Quinta H.S.) in 11th place, dropping 3.3 seconds off of his previous best time with a time of 23:16.8. Seven and a half minutes behind him was freshman Anthony Perdomo (La Quinta H.S.), who finished with his second-best time of the season, crossing the finish line with a time of 30:46.2. Sophomore Hector Jimenez (Thermal Coachella H.S.) dropped 11.9 seconds off of his previous best time, finishing in 20th with a time of 32:19.5. Freshman Gabriel Hernandez (Indio Shadow Hills) crossing the line in 21st place with a time of 32:42.1 and sophomore Matthew Cuanetl (Rancho Mirage H.S.) wrapped up the morning for the Roadrunners, finishing with his best time of the season, dropping 68.8 seconds off of his previous best, crossing the line with a time of 34:31.1.

The next event for Desert is at the SoCal Regional Championship at El Dorado East Regional Park in Long Beach on November 3rd at 11 a.m.
