COD Women's Soccer Claims Team Ethics & Sportsmanship Award

COD Women's Soccer Claims Team Ethics & Sportsmanship Award

COD women's soccer has earned the 2021 College Team Ethics & Sportsmanship Bronze Award decided by the Ethics Committee of the United Soccer Coaches Association of America.

This award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game that the Roadrunners showed during the 2021 season. The team won the Silver award for the 2018 season.

"This award demonstrates the many components there are to the game besides winning and losing," said Roadrunners head coach Garrett Estrin. "How we display ourselves on the field is extremely important. When the girls are out there on the field they are not only representing themselves and the program, but College of the Desert as a whole and the values and philosophy that it represents. Being recognized with this award demonstrates the quality of individuals we have in our Women's Soccer program."

The Roadrunners finished the 2021 season with a 14-6-1 overall and 9-2-1 in conference. Desert placed 2nd in the Inlande Empire Athletic Confernece (IEAC). The Roadrunners collected the most team wins since 1998, surpassing the 1999 team and their 12-7-3 record, placing 2021 as second all-time in wins with 14.
