Arellano Ayala, from Indio H.S., was named first team All-Inland Empire Athletic Conference for her sophomore season, starting 19 of 20 games she played in for the Roadrunners in 2023, holding down the back line that helped lockdown opposing offenses and led to six clean sheets. During her freshman campaign, Arellano Ayala started in 11 of 21 games for Desert and was one of the key reasons the Roadrunners secured five shutouts while she was on the field during the 2022 season.

"My time here at COD has been great, it's been a great experience." Arellano Ayala continued, "I met a lot of people, made a lot of friendships and I feel like it was something great."

Later, Arellano Ayala explained why she chose La Sierra University, "I'm excited for La Sierra because not only is it a great academic school, but their program, their soccer program is great as well and I just felt very welcome when I went to go visit so I am very excited for that."

La Sierra University is located in Riverside, which is about 80 miles west of College of the Desert. The LSU Golden Eagles play at Larry Geraty Field and the team is coached by Carlos Treviño in his 1st season with the Golden Eagles. In the 2023 season, the Golden Eagles concluded the year with a 4-9-1 overall record, with a 2-8-1 record in Conference play, finishing the season in 10th place. LSU is in the California Pacific Conference of NAIA.
