COD Women’s Volleyball wins exciting 5-set match over Panthers, 3-2

COD (5-7; 2-0) grabbed a share of the Conference lead with a huge win in front of the home fans, knocking off the Chaffey Panthers (5-10; 3-1) 3-2 (23-25, 25-22, 14-25, 25-19 & 15-10).

Freshman setter Kianna Diaz (Palm Desert H.S.) led the team with 44 set assists and grabbing 15 digs and freshman outside hitter Kaila Sandy (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 17 kills, 3 service aces and 21 digs.

Desert has an 27-31 all-time record against Chaffey, including an 18-13 record in Palm Desert.

Freshman outside hitter Yesenia Ramirez (Indio Shadow Hills) had 12 kills and 16 digs and freshman opposite Lila Cowdell (Herriman, UT) had 18 digs, 6 kills and 3 service aces.

Freshman middle blocker Caitlin Bilhartz (Bowling Green, MO) led the team with two solo blocks, had 12 kills and 2 service aces and sophomore libero Dakota Hansen (Myrtle Beach, SC) led the team with 27 digs and had 2 service aces.
