COD had two runners participate in the second event of the season at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut for the Mt. SAC Invitational, where Desert participants finished in 38th and 40th place on the 5-kilometer course.

Grabbing the top spot for Desert in Walnut was sophomore Heather Hinton (La Quinta H.S.), she dropped 1:12 from her previous season best, collecting 38th place with a time of 22:11.1.

Also finishing with a new season best was freshman Angelina Iniguez (Cathedral City H.S.), dropping 51 seconds from her previous season best, collecting 40th place with a time of 22:20.0.

The next event for Desert is at the Inland Empire Athletic Conference Championship at Norco College in Norco on October 28th at 10 a.m.
