COD Women’s Cross Country grabs 2-3 at Conference Finals

COD had two runners participate in the third event of the season at Norco College in Norco for the Inland Empire Athletic Conference Championship, where Desert participants finished in 2nd and 3rd place on the 5-kilometer course.

Grabbing the top spot for Desert in Norco was sophomore Heather Hinton (La Quinta H.S.), she dropped 63 seconds from her previous season best, collecting 2nd place with a time of 21:08.1.

Right on her heals, was her teammate, also finishing with a new season best was freshman Angelina Iniguez (Cathedral City H.S.), dropping 72 seconds from her previous season best, collecting 3rd place with a time of 21:08.2.

The next event for Desert is at the SoCal Regional Championship at Kern County Soccer Park in Bakersfield on November 4th at 10 a.m.
