COD Women’s Cross Country to run at State Championship

COD stunned at the IEAC Championships, now they have continued their amazing run onto the CCCAA State Championships as the two-member team is headed to Fresno.

Desert had two runners participate in the fourth event of the season at Kern County Soccer Park in Bakersfield for the SoCal Regional Championship, where Desert participants finished in 62nd and 68th place on the 5-kilometer course.

Grabbing the top spot for Desert in Bakersfield was freshman Angelina Iniguez (Cathedral City H.S.), dropping 7 seconds from her previous season best, collecting 62nd place with a time of 21:01.04.

Right on her heals, was her teammate, was sophomore Heather Hinton (La Quinta H.S.), she posted a nearly idendical finish time as the IEAC Championship, collecting 68th place with a time of 21:08.40.

The next event for Desert is at the CCCAA State Championship at Woodward Park in Fresno on November 19th at 10 a.m.
