COD (15-2) hosted their first SoCal Regional Quarterfinal Playoff match since 2015 and happened to draw the team which has won the past three straight CCCAA State Titles, the Irvine Valley Lasers (6-10), pushing past the visitors, 5-2.

Freshman Kyryll Kryvchun (Vancouver (BC) Learning Network) remains undefeated throughout all of 2018, in both Conference and non-Conference and now Playoffs singles play, where he is 16-0 as he cruised to a straight sets win, 6-1 and 6-0.

Sophomore Dimitrije Vukovic (Burnaby (BC) Moscrop Secondary) and sophomore Jakob Dvorken (Ridgewood, NJ) rolled to victory in straight sets. The matches for freshman Joshua Bailin (La Quinta H.S.) and freshman Brian Johnson (Palm Springs H.S.) were suspended early once the match was decided.

In doubles play, the team of sophomore Joau Luiz Zillo Prado (São Paulo (Brazil) Ateneu) and Vukovic were victorious in their match by a score of 8-3.

The next match for College of the Desert Men's Tennis will be on the road on April 17th at 2p, where they will participate in the CCCAA SoCal Regional Team Semifinals as the #4 seed, traveling to the #1 seed, Cerritos Falcons.

College of the Desert defeated Irvine Valley, 5-2 in CCCAA SoCal Regional Team Quarterfinals play at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
