Congratulations to Bella Branconier from women's volleyball and Jose Calderon, Jr. from men's soccer for earning the College of the Desert August Student Athletes of the Month honors.

Women's Volleyball freshman outside hitter Bella Branconier from Xavier College Prep in Palm Desert, started and played in every set of all four matches to begin the 2023 season. The impact player finished the month of August leading the team in kills (31) and finishing second in digs (41). She also collected 2 service aces and 2 solos blocks and an assist block over the four-game span.

Men's Soccer sophomore forward Jose Calderon, Jr. from Desert Mirage H.S. in Thermal got the 2023 season off to a roaring start with a pair of assists in a season opening 2-2 tie and a pair of goals in the second game of the season, a 2-2 tie.
