MISSION STATEMENT:

The College of the Desert (COD) Sports Medicine Center will provide high-quality care to student-athletes through prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Sports Medicine staff are committed to continual assessment of knowledge and practices to provide the most current and comprehensive sports health care available. College of the Desert will be a center of collaboration among the health care team with innovative medical services and supportive of our student athlete’s overall wellbeing and achievement.
 

VISION STATEMENT:

The College of the Desert Sports Medicine team is committed to providing the best possible medical care for its student-athletes and visiting athletic teams. Our Sports Medicine team is composed of team physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists and student interns. Our certified athletic trainers are members of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), which is recognized by the American Medical Association. The NATA was established for the purpose of advancing, assisting, and educating athletic trainers. Athletic Trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all student athletes. College of the Desert ATs are committed to providing excellent individualized care services, along with educational and clinical opportunities to contribute to the health, learning and success of our diverse student athletes.
