Glendale, Calif. - College of the Desert women's soccer fought back valiantly from a 2-0 deficit late in the second half, to earn a 2-2 tie against Glendale.
Down 2-0 in the 74th minute, Desert earned a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box. Freshman Reyna Gutierrez (Desert Hot Springs, CA / Desert Hot Springs HS) stepped up and delivered a perfect ball into the goal mouth, which was headed in by sophomore Karla Casillas (La Quinta, CA / La Quinta HS).
Just two minutes later, the Lady Roadrunners would strike again when freshman Monica Monay (Palm Desert, CA / Cathedral City HS) scored her fifth goal of the season on a nice play from sophomore Sarah Felix (Indio, CA / Shadow Hills HS).
