COD Women's Soccer Secures 7th Shutout Of Season

The Roadrunners secured a clean sheet against the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles this week, defeating them 1-0. This victory propelled the Roadrunners to the 3rd place position in the conference with a record of 2-0-1.

The first half of the match was a tense affair, with both teams refusing to concede a goal. However, in the 20th minute of the second half, the Roadrunners managed to score the winning goal. The goal was scored by freshman forward Willow Jones (Yucca Valley H.S.), who received the ball from freshman midfielder Savannah Rivera (Coachella Valley H.S.) and skillfully placed it into the back of the net. This marked Willow's third goal of the season, while Savannah's first assist of the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Ana Rojas (Shadow Hills H.S.) played a crucial role in maintaining the Roadrunners' clean sheet, making a total of six saves.

The Roadrunners next match will be held at home against the Chaffey Panthers on October 10th. The game will take place at Shadow Hills High School in Indio, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
