COD Baseball stuns Eagles with walk-off, 8-7

COD (15-10; 9-5) found themselves in another hole early, but fought back in a big way, as the Roadrunners grabbed their 2nd walk off win of the season, winning the rubber game over the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (10-16; 7-5), 8-7.

Since 1992, the Roadrunners have a 49-47 overall record against Mt. San Jacinto. Desert has a 27-22 record against the Eagles in Palm Desert.

Freshman center fielder Connor Martin (Abbotsford (BC) Yale Secondary) tied a season high with 4 hits, going a perfect 4 for 4, with a run and 2 RBIs out of the 7-hole in the lineup. Freshman first baseman Juan Alvarez (Envigado (COL) Educational Institution La Paz) grabbed his 4th multi-hit game of the season and tying a season high with 2 RBIs out of the 5-hole in the lineup. Freshman right fielder Cristian Angulo (Palm Desert H.S.) scored a big run in the 7th as the Roadrunners scored 4 in the inning. Sophomore pinch hitter Victor Esquivel Perez (Yucatan, MEX) was on the bench due to an injury sustained in Tuesday's game and was brought in to collect the walk off hit in the bottom of the 9th.

The next match-up for the Roadrunners will be at the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines on Tuesday, March 25 at 2:30p. Since 1992, back when the San Bernardino Valley mascot was the Indians, the Roadrunners have a 43-59 overall record against San Bernardino Valley. Desert has a 24-28 record against the Wolverines in Palm Desert.
