2023-24 Season in Review - COD Men’s Basketball

Under the tutelage of third-year head coach Robert Romero, Desert finished the regular season with a record of 12-16 overall and 7-9 in conference. The Roadrunners placed 5th in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC).

Throughout the course of the season, Desert had some notable victories as they swept Copper Mountain, Barstow and Victor Valley and split the season series with Palo Verde. Also knocking off Glendale, which made the 3C2A Regional playoffs.

Sophomore guard Isaiah Goad (Palm Springs H.S.) was named Second team All-IEAC. He was in the Conference top ten in three statistical categories: field goals (127-249 – 9th), assists (100 – 4th) and 3-point shooting percentage (40.4% - 7th). Goad finished first on the team in assists (100), second in points (302), third in steals (27) and fifth in total rebounds (118). His best game of the season was his final game in a Roadrunners uniform on Sophomore Night against Victor Valley. Goad scored a career-high 37 points on 14 of 26 shooting, including going 8 for 10 from the free throw line, adding 9 total rebounds and 6 assists.

Freshman forward Wilfred Weir (Murrieta Valley) (nicknamed "Walker") was named Honorable Mention All-IEAC and sophomore forward Jermayn Baxter (Indianapolis (IN) Decatur Central) was also named Honorable Mention All-IEAC.
