COD Men’s Basketball rolls past Desert Warriors, 99-64

COD (1-3) grabbed their first win of the 2024-25 season on the back end of the Coyotes Invitational in El Cajon, knocking off the Imperial Valley Desert Warriors (1-4), 99-64.

The Roadrunners collected their 5th straight win over Imperial Valley, a streak that stretches back to January of 2019.

Sophomore starting guard Wilfred Weir (Murrieta Valley) led all scorers with his first double-double of the season, scoring 28 points on 9 of 13 shooting, including going 9 of 11 from the free throw line and grabbing 10 total rebounds 7 defensive. Freshman starting forward Will Antista (Vista Murrieta) added 8 points on 4 of 6 shooting and 7 boards. Freshman guard Jacob Lucas (Lake Elsinore Lakeside) contributed 9 points on 3 of 8 shooting, including going 2 for 5 from beyond the arc, grabbing two steals. Sophomore forward Jamerson McClendon (Indio H.S.) missed a double-double by a layup, as he had 8 points on 3 of 3 shooting and 10 total rebounds. Leading the team in assists (6), tying the team lead in steals (2) and blocks (2). Freshman guard Jayden Creavalle (Palm Springs H.S.) added 9 points on 3 of 9 shooting, grabbing 2 steals and 2 blocks.

The next game for the Roadrunners is at home versus Santa Ana (2-2) on Wednesday, November 13 at 5p.
