COD Men’s Golf: 4 collect best scores of season in Lawndale

COD Men's Golf opened up Orange Empire Conference play by collecting a 1st place finish, with 4 golfers snagging their best scores of the season and 2 grabbing their second-best scores of the season.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to fifth event of the 2025 season, beginning Orange Empire Conference play, which was hosted at the Alondra Park Golf Club in Lawndale by the El Camino Warriors of Torrance. Desert would finish with 363 points, putting them in 1st place, 5-strokes ahead of the Cypress Chargers.

Leading the way for the Roadrunners in Lawndale was freshman Sinjin Armstrong (La Quinta H.S.), who dropped 5 strokes from his previous season low at the Cuyamaca Classic on 2/12 and shot a 2-under, 70 which tied for 2nd individually. Freshman Linus Rindestad Utter (Handen (SWE) Fredrika Bremergymnasiet) and freshman Phar Vincent (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) not only shot their lowest scores of the season, they shot the same score, a 1-under 71, but also bested their previous low by 5 strokes. Freshman Logan Marra (Palm Desert H.S.) tied his season low score with a 5-over 77 and freshman Mason Montgomery (Palm Desert H.S.) tied his second-best score of the season with a 2-over, 74. Sophomore Jacob Stacey (Twentynine Palms H.S.) wrapped up the event by tying his second-best score of the season, shooting a 6-over, 78 on the afternoon.

The next match for the Roadrunners will be on March 10th at 9a, where they will continue Orange Empire Conference play by traveling to Navy Golf Club in Los Alamitos and hosted by the Cypress Chargers.
