COD Men’s Golf grabs 1st place in Los Alamitos

COD Men's Golf participated in their second Orange Empire Conference event by collecting a second consecutive 1st place finish, with 2 golfers snagging their best scores of the season and 2 grabbing their second-best scores of the season.
The Roadrunners sent six participants to their sixth event of the 2025 season, continuing Orange Empire Conference play, which was hosted at the Navy Golf Club in Los Alamitos by the Cypress Chargers. Desert would finish with 374 points, putting them in 1st place, 3-strokes ahead of the Orange Coast Pirates of Costa Mesa.
Leading the way for the Roadrunners in Los Alamitos was freshman Mason Montgomery (Palm Desert H.S.) who tied his best score of the season, shooting a 3-under 69 which he also shot at the Cuyamaca Classic on 2/12. Montgomery's 3-under put him in a 3-way tie for 1st with golfers from the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles and the Victor Valley Rams. Sophomore Jacob Stacey (Twentynine Palms H.S.), who dropped 2 strokes from his previous season low at the MSJC Eagle Classic on 2/19 and shot a 2-over, 74. Freshman Phar Vincent (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) shot his second-best score of the season, shooting a 3-over 75 and freshman Sinjin Armstrong (La Quinta H.S.) shot a 5-over 77. Freshman Linus Rindestad Utter (Handen (SWE) Fredrika Bremergymnasiet) shot a 7-over, 79 and freshman Logan Marra (Palm Desert H.S.) wrapped up the event by shooting his second best score of the season, shooting an 8-over, 80.
The next match for the Roadrunners will be on March 12th at 9a, where they will continue Orange Empire Conference play by traveling to The Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto and hosted by the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles.
